ABIA Exhibit

Austin Bergstrom International Airport Exhibit

I am thrilled to be showing my work at ABIA now thru August 7 along with fellow Bunkhouse Gang members Dena Wenmohs and Ruth Meader. If you are flying into or out of ABIA this summer be sure to go by and see the exhibit. It's in the Artspace Gallery West, behind the bookstore and next to the food court.

Here are the paintings I have hanging.

"Victoria"

Victoria's Grandparents were very pleased with this portrait of their Parisian Granddaughter. They plan to give it to the parents of this precious girl on Christmas. The painting is now in France. I do hope the parents like it.

I actually did 2 paintings, one in pastel (above) and one in oil. They chose the pastel. Now I get to play with the oil version a little.

"Goats in the Field" won best in show at the Victoria Art League's 2011 Fall Show. Yeah me. And "Precious at Sunset" (Precious is the cat's name) got an Honorable Mention in the Pencil, Pastel, Ink catagory.

I painted "Survivor" for the Paws & Claws at Flintrock Falls fundraiser for The Friends of Mrs. P's nonprofit organization (http://www.friendsofmrsp.org). They raise money, pet food and other services for pets who's owners need a little help to take care of them and to the loveable neighborhood "pet" who prefer living in the wild, so to speak.

"Survivor" was a big ol' Tom cat that would come through the neighborhood where we used to live. You could tell he had had his share of cat fights but there was a gentleness in his eyes. Maybe he was once someone's pet and got lost, then mistreated and just couldn't bring himself to trust humans again.
